Dublin Castle & The Origins of Dublin
Next, we visit Dublin Castle, the seat of English rule in Ireland for over 800 years. This historic site stands on the location of the original ‘Dubh Linn’, from which the city of Dublin takes its name.
We then explore Christchurch Cathedral, which has stood in the city since the 12th century. Beside it is the excellent Viking museum, Dublinia, offering insight into Dublin’s Viking past. Continuing onward, we arrive at the majestic Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, also dating back to the 12th century, where Saint Patrick is said to have baptised early Christian converts in Dublin.
After that, we head towards the famous St Stephen’s Green before finishing the tour in a traditional Dublin pub, where you can enjoy a complimentary refreshing drink.
This small group private tour is priced at €250 for up to 4 people.
